Year 6 Sats 2023 Presentation For Parents and Carers
The documents below will give you a clear idea of the expectations we are working towards.
Here you will find a range of activities to support your child. They can be downloaded and printed.
MATHEMATICS SUPPORT
One of these arithmetic tests should take your child no more than 30 minutes. Recording their work on squared paper might make it much easier for them.
These puzzles are great for developing your child’s reasoning and ensuring they can work out what a question is asking them to do.
READING SUPPORT
There is no doubt that being able to read fluently, with accuracy, speed and understanding are the most critical skills. For some children, building their reading stamina will make a huge difference. These tests should help them build up their ability to read confidently at speed, as will reading any of their own books. Encourage them to talk to you about unfamiliar words so that they can build their vocabulary. The assessment tasks should take no more than an hour. The shorter reading comprehensions shouldn’t take more than 30 minutes each.
